SALT Museum and Art Gallery
Today we visited the SALT Museum. We met at the library and after a short introduction our guide showed us the nice building and the exhibitions. The building contains a library, and exhibitions about architecture, design, and social and economic histories. First we saw models of all water reservoirs of Turkey and the exhibition of the history of the building. In the last part of the visit we got to know the marketing manager. The women showed us a presentation and told us something about the marketing concept, how SALT identifies in the public and how they finance. Interesting and nice trip!
Pera Museum
Yesterday we visited the Pera Museum. The director of the museum showed us the differnet exhibitions. We saw the "anatolian weights and measures", the "Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics" and the "Intersecting Worlds: Ambassadors and Painters". After the viewing he answered all questions of our group. It was also nice that the museum has air-conditioned rooms because it was very hot outside yesterday :-) -> 40° and more!
It was a very interesting nice visit!

Walking the streets of Taksim
Dinner
We were so hungry and went through the Istiklal Cd. searching a place to eat. Happily we found the Ara Cafe near the Galatasaray Lisesi. We had very nice dinner as it is seen on the picture. Afterwards we went to the French Street. There was an absolutely nice atmosphere in that small street. Because of the time we only went through, but decide to come back and visit it a next time.

Surprise at 11 pm
Relaxing in our flat we suddenly heard loud music outside. Ended up being one person playing the drums and one person playing the trumpet and approximately fifteen people following, clapping and singing. Our first thought was that in Germany all neighbors would call the police at such a time in the evening because of the disturbance of peace.

Arriving in Istanbul
After eight hours travelling we finally arrived at the Taksim Square where the hirer of our flat welcomed us. He guided us to the place where we live untill now for four weeks. Tired and hungry from our Trip he showed a really nice restaurant, he called it "Insider Tip". Wondering about that we finally had a delicious dinner at Tavanarasi at our first evening in Istanbul.
Back in the flat we´ll now go to bed being excited what will happen the next weeks. Good night! ;)
